The perfect crafty afternoon out! \nClass includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration\, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs\, black ink pot\, 2 letter guides\, tracing paper\, and straight pen holder)\, and all materials to write on. You will leave with a helpful takeaway guide\, fresh skills\, and a new obsession! Come curious\, leave ready to call Mahjong! \nAll materials are provided for this lesson. \nOpen Play: Independent American Mahjong Gameplay \nAlready know how to play? Join our Open Play tables running alongside Mahjong 101. This option is perfect for players who want casual\, independent gameplay without instruction. \nEnjoy a relaxed setting with full use of Mahjong sets. Bring your 2025 NMJL Card if you have one – if not\, we will have some available to use. Players will be seated by self-selected skill level (beginner\, intermediate\, or advanced) to keep games fun and evenly matched. Come solo or bring friends! \nPlease note: This session is designed for players familiar with American Mahjong (the traditional four-player tile game). It is not the solo digital “matching” game often seen in app stores or on TikTok. Participants should be comfortable with the rules\, Charleston\, and reading the NMJL card. If you’re new to the game\, please join us for a Mahj 101 class first. \nOpen Play sessions require a minimum of four participants to run.
