Born in the low-country of South Carolina, Jason moved to North Carolina as soon as he could and “grew up” in Charlotte, NC. He stayed local and attended UNCC. Jason began his brewing career in the early 90’s brewing for The Mill Bakery, Eatery & Brewery, where he won silver medals at the Great American Beer Festival in ’91 (Munchner Dunkel) and ’95 (Dusseldorf-Style Altbier). Knowing he found his calling, he left UNCC to study brewing science at Seibel Institute of Technology in Chicago. After an 18 or so year sabbatical to find his wife Christine and help raise their daughter Jocelyn, Jason has dusted off the brewing boots and is again living the dream as a master brewer.
